Why it belongs on the bench

Adafruit CLUE is an nRF52840 sensor board in a micro:bit-like shape, combining a 240×240 color display, Bluetooth LE, buttons, microphone, motion, environmental, light and gesture sensors with CircuitPython or Arduino support. Those onboard sensors make it well suited to the catalogue’s spirit-level and live sensor-plotter projects without a collection of separate breakouts. Physical resemblance does not make every micro:bit accessory or program compatible: CLUE has its own processor, display and software libraries, although the edge connector follows the familiar format. Battery operation also requires a suitable external battery; USB or battery power is not the same as onboard charging.

Your first CircuitPython display gadget

For the quickest connected dashboard, choose PyPortal; for a sensor-rich offline display, choose CLUE; for a compact Wi-Fi/Bluetooth project you will package yourself, choose Feather ESP32-S3 TFT. Install the board-specific CircuitPython build, copy only compatible libraries, render a static screen first, and add networking after the local loop is stable.
