Why it belongs on the bench

Pimoroni PicoVision is a digital video board using one RP2040 as a graphics processor and a Pico W-class RP2040 as the user-programmable CPU. It exposes an HDMI-shaped digital video connector, line-out audio, microSD, USB, wireless networking and Qw/ST expansion, with C++ and MicroPython graphics libraries. That makes it suitable for the catalogue’s official demos, homebrew visuals and PC/XT emulator frontend. Its connector carries digital video but software, display mode and asset throughput still constrain results; the catalogue emulator additionally needs its own microSD disk image and USB input hardware. C++ is the better choice when maximum graphics performance matters.

Run the project's PC/XT emulator frontend on PicoVision with CGA output, USB HID keyboard and mouse input, and a hard-disk image loaded from microSD.

Build a PicoVision PC/XT emulator

Use the project's PicoVision CMake frontend with local Pico SDK and Pimoroni PicoVision source checkouts, provide legally obtained XT-compatible BIOS files, then boot a hard-disk image named hd0.img from microSD. PicoVision supplies CGA video output and accepts USB HID keyboard and mouse input through the emulator frontend.
