Pimoroni projects and devices

Pimoroni hardware in Flashable covers two display-oriented RP2040 systems. Badger 2040 W is a wireless, battery-friendly e-paper badge with buttons, suited to persistent name, calendar, weather, QR, checklist, and information apps. PicoVision uses two RP2040 chips to generate digital video for graphics demos, larger dashboards, and a PC/XT emulator with microSD storage and USB input. Choose Badger for low-refresh portable information, not animation; choose PicoVision when an HDMI/DVI display is part of the build. Their firmware paths also differ: Badger’s full OS image can erase user files, while PicoVision’s normal and widescreen builds trade resolution and sprite capacity. Make a low-power Wi-Fi e-paper badge with Badger 2040 W

Build the badge as a cached, occasionally refreshed display rather than a miniature always-online dashboard. Start from Badger OS examples, design a high-contrast monochrome layout, fetch only compact data, save the last good result locally, and spend most of the time asleep.

Build a PicoVision PC/XT emulator

Use the project's PicoVision CMake frontend with local Pico SDK and Pimoroni PicoVision source checkouts, provide legally obtained XT-compatible BIOS files, then boot a hard-disk image named hd0.img from microSD. PicoVision supplies CGA video output and accepts USB HID keyboard and mouse input through the emulator frontend.
