Choose a Raspberry Pi for an always-on home server

Use a Pi Zero 2 W for one lightweight, headless service with modest storage traffic; choose a Pi 5 when you need multiple services, faster I/O, more memory, containers or camera processing. Reliability comes less from peak CPU speed than from a supported power supply, durable storage, cooling where required, backups and disciplined network exposure.
