Its display, audio and wireless platform fits official ESP-BOX examples, the network-dependent ChatGPT demonstration and Home Assistant’s exact-model ESPHome voice satellite. Those paths process speech differently: ESP-SR can recognize offline commands, the ChatGPT demo uses an external online API, and the Home Assistant build can detect its wake word on the BOX while sending later speech stages through the selected Assist pipeline. Buyers should verify the exact BOX generation because BOX-3, BOX-3B, earlier BOX and BOX-Lite use distinct firmware targets; accessories are not required for the base Home Assistant setup.
